This is a wonderfully artistic picture. It is not just a picture of a flower, but so much more. On the surface, it is easy to see the beauty of this piece. The colors are bright but soft, and complement each other nicely. I found myself initially attracted to this picture by its beauty and simplicity. However, like I said, this is not just another flower picture. It has feeling; it has a message. This is what makes it unique. The title conveys the message of this picture without any further clarification. Looking at this picture I immediately think about all the little things in life that we miss because we're too rushed. There are so many moments in our lives that are happy and peaceful, but we tend to rush through them, always trying to complete the 'to do' list. This picture reminds me of the importance of stopping to notice all those little moments, because those moments are far more beautiful than we could ever imagine. But we won't know that until we pay attention. The focus and DOF are perfect for conveying this message. I think the impact was greatly increased by the large aperture. The selective focus in this picture speaks to the amazing beauty that can be found if we only focused our attention on the little things that are often overlooked.

The square composition is effective for this picture. However, I feel that the subject is just slightly too centered. I think the picture could have greater impact if it was just a little more off-center on the right side. This is really the only criticism I have. As far as I can tell, everything else about the technique is just right. Your skill is clearly shown in this image. Not just in the technique, but also in its impact. In this picture you transformed a simple flower into a work of art.
